What We Do

Here at San Gabriel Valley Humane Society we:

  • Scan each animal for a microchip (or visible tag) and attempt to return the animal to its owner.

  • Provide both a medical and a behavioral evaluation of each in care animal upon arrival.

  • Facilitate the adoption of all healthy and adoptable animals into permanent, loving homes. Occasionally we reach out to animal rescue organizations to ensure an optimal placement for the animal. In a few situations animals with untreatable health or behavioral issues may be humanely euthanized.

  • Offer a low cost vaccination and spay/neuter clinic to the public. Encouraging responsible pet ownership, we help make pet ownership affordable.

  • Provide Animal Control services for the cities of San Gabriel and Temple City.

  • Provide educational programs for local schools and community groups regarding animals and animal sheltering programs.

  • Work with Scouting and community volunteer groups to provide volunteer opportunities that provide educational and leadership experiences while helping the shelter and the animals.

Thank You

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society is a private, non-profit shelter. We provide animal control services to the cities of San Gabriel and Temple City, offer low-cost clinic services, and have modest adoption fees.

We depend on private donations to support our work. Our goal is to provide a safe place for every adoptable animal we receive until our furry friends find their forever homes. We can't do it without you!
