We are limiting public access to the shelter and following guidance of the CDC, LA Public Health Dept & veterinary practice protocols, including continual disinfection, use of gloves, masks & other PPE, to keep our staff, the public & our animals safe.

CUSTOMER CARE MANAGER:  Responsible for all customer care and front office operations. Works alongside Clinic and Kennel Managers to ensure day-to-day shelter operations run smoothly and efficiently.

This is a working manager position requiring the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities and functions required:

  • Supervise Customer Care staff

  • Oversee Animal Control operations to ensure proper response times and appropriate resolution of calls

  • Customer Service - Answer phones in a knowledgeable, courteous, and professional manner; handle complaints and concerns with diplomacy

  • Conduct and oversee pet adoption interviews and processing of adoption paperwork

  • Data entry of customer and animal records into management system

  • Review all data in management system to maintain integrity

  • Prepare daily bank deposits

  • Schedule public clinic services

  • Manage all office and kennel inventory ordering

  • Work with Maintenance Coordinator to ensure proper facilities maintenance

  • Calculate employee time cards for payroll processing

  • File, maintain, or destroy documents and records as per the document retention plan

  • Other shelter tasks as needed

Experience Required:

  • Customer Service

  • Minimum 2 years in a management position

  • Computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Mail Merge

  • Knowledge of Human Resources working in a management capacity

CUSTOMER CARE ASSOCIATE:  Ensure day-to-day front office operations run smoothly and efficiently. Prior customer service experience required. Experience with data entry and Microsoft Office applications also required. Ability to work in a fast paced environment is essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming all visitors and answering phones in a knowledgeable, courteous and professional manner.

  • Handling complaints and concerns with diplomacy; dispatching Animal Control Officer calls.

  • Answering a busy multi-line phone system.

  • Working with fractious customers to resolve any issues or concerns.

  • Conducting pet adoption interviews and processing adoption paperwork; scheduling clinic services.

  • Entering customer / animal information into the shelter management system.

  • Performing other office tasks as needed.

  • Computer skills; Including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Mail Merge.

  • Some knowledge of database management, learning new operating systems and computer applications.

  • Prepare daily bank deposits.

REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN: Provide appropriate veterinary care to shelter animals. Must have current RVT license in California. Ability to work in a fast paced environment is essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Patient check in for surgery days.

  • Pre-, Intra- and Post- Op care of surgery patients in a fast paced spay/neuter clinic.

  • Medicating shelter animals.

  • Performing dental cleanings.

  • Administering vaccines at our public clinics.

  • Handling emergency situations alongside other veterinary and shelter staff to provide excellent patient care.

 

Basic computer and good interpersonal communication skills are very important for the job.

CLINIC MANAGER, REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN: Ensure appropriate veterinary care is provided to shelter animals. Must have current RVT license in California and 2-3 years of veterinary experience. Ability to work in a fast paced environment is essential.

As a working manager, responsibilities include:

  • Handling emergency situations and leading other veterinary and shelter staff to provide excellent patient care for all shelter and public animals.

  • Assessing and medicating shelter animals under the guidance of shelter veterinarian.

  • Ordering and maintenance of all clinic supplies, including all medications.

  • Patient check-in for surgery days.

  • Pre-, Intra- and Post- Op care of surgery patients in a fast paced spay/neuter clinic.

  • Performing dental cleanings.

  • Administering vaccines at our public clinics.

 

Solid computer and interpersonal communication skills are very important for the job.

Shelter/Kennel Hours: 10:00AM-4:30PM
