The volunteer program is for people who love animals, wish to improve their quality of life and are looking to make a difference in their community. Volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to dog walking, dog grooming, cat socializing, facility maintenance, fundraising, community outreach, and general office work.
There are countless ways to make a difference in the lives of shelter animals! Below are just a few of the volunteer opportunities. You will learn of other opportunities when you attend our General Orientation.
Dog Walking and Socializing
You can volunteer to walk the dogs or play with them one-on-one in our Meet & Greet `park’! (Dog walkers are required to attend an orientation class first.)
If you don’t mind getting wet you might like to join our dog grooming team on Saturdays to bathe and walk our dogs.
You can `cat-sit’ in our `Meow Manor’, `Mini-Manor’ or `Kitten Kaboodle’. Enjoy the love and affection of the most wonderful felines in their new habitats! You can pet, cuddle and play with the kitties to your hearts’ content! (Cat Socializer are required to attend an orientation class first.)
You may pick up a volunteer application at the shelter or follow the link below to print an application. Please drop off the completed application at the shelter and our New Volunteer Coordinator will contact you.
You must be over 18 to volunteer with the animals but there are many other opportunities to help!
