Donations and Volunteers

DONATIONSWe are looking for donations of various items to help us raise money:

Silent Auction
Don’t put it on eBay – donate it to San Gabriel Valley Humane Society! We are looking for special items to include in our silent auction. Some of the most profitable items last year were non-dog related (such as a hand-blown glass vase, wine, board games, cookie jars, etc.) so clean out that basement and donate, donate, donate!
Raffles and Contest Prizes
We are looking for gift certificates or items ranging in value from $20 - $100 to award the winners of various contests.
Refreshments

  • Cases of soda pop, juice and/or bottled water.
  • Packaged snacks such as variety packs of chips, pretzels, energy bars.
  • Baked goods such as muffins and cookies.

General Support
Cash donations are needed to rent tables, chairs, microphone and tenting in case of rain. Any help is sincerely and gratefully accepted.

NOTE: Although you may request how your donation will be used, San Gabriel Valley Humane Society reserves the right to place donated items into any category we deem necessary.

Underwriting dollars will be used at the discretion of San Gabriel Valley Humane Society to defray costs of the event.

A portion of your contribution may be used to purchase food and drinks. San Gabriel Valley Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) organization. The amount paid beyond the fair market value of the goods received is deductible as allowed by law.

VOLUNTEERS

How do I volunteer for the Run-A-Mutt Dog Walk?
First, complete the form on the Contact Us page. You will then receive an email invitation to join our volunteer group. If you would like to volunteer, simply respond to the email. It is that easy and you make such a difference!

Where will be the Run-A-Mutt Dog Walk held?
This year’s Run-A-Mutt will be held in the Temple City Park in Temple City, CA on Saturday, September 20, 2008. Please see the When and Where page of the website for more information.

When should I arrive at Run-A-Mutt Dog Walk?
We would appreciate if all volunteers would arrive an hour before the event is scheduled to begin - for example if you are volunteering for the festival, please arrive at 8:00 AM. This will allow you to find out information about your task for the day and help with any set up necessary. We would also appreciate it if your time of departure is flexible, but that you stay at least until the end of your event. (If you can stay afterwards and help clean up, we would greatly appreciate it!!)

What will I do at Run-A-Mutt Dog Walk?
When you get to Run-A-Mutt Dog Walk, please go to the SGVHS table and let them know that you are a new volunteer. You will then be assigned your task for the day. You may have various tasks assigned to you, so please be flexible since we may need lots of help. But remember to have fun!

What should I bring with me to Run-A-Mutt Dog Walk?
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, sun block and a hat.
