ANIMAL CARE STAFF – Responsibilities include: feeding animals; cleaning animal kennels/cages; handling, socializing and exercising animals; and customer service – introducing animals to potential adopters. You will be interacting with Clinic staff, Customer Care staff and volunteers. A high degree of care and professionalism is required at all times. Graduation from high school or its equivalent is required. REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN:   Full Time, including weekends.  Must have current RVT license in California and 2-3 yrs. experience. Responsibilities include patient check in for surgery days, Pre-, Intra- and Post- Op care of surgery patients, performing dental cleanings, medicating shelter animals, and participating at our vaccine clinics.  The applicant should be able to handle emergency situations, work independently, work well with other medical and shelter staff and be motivated to provide excellent patient care.  Basic computer skills, good interpersonal communication, and the ability to work well in a fast paced spay/neuter clinic are all important for the job.  If you would like to become a member of our medical team, please submit your resume and cover letter to:   hr@sgvhumane.org or fax to 626-286-3165. ANIMAL CONTROL/HUMANE OFFICER:  Experienced (minimum one year) with emphasis on animal welfare and enforcing state/local laws to protect the safety and rights of animals and the public. Responsibilities include responding to reports of stray animals, injured animals, animals in distress and animal cruelty;  transporting injured animals; pick up of deceased animals; preparing bite reports; investigating animal neglect and abuse;  responding to citizen complaints regarding companion animals and wildlife;  enforcing State and Public Health licensing and rabies vaccination requirements.

Must reside within 30 miles of Pasadena/San Gabriel/Temple City, California.  Valid California driver’s license and safe driving record required.  Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. on a regular basis.  Extensive direct handling, carrying and restraining of animals, both large and small, and carrying supplies and equipment. Must be able to manage unruly, vicious and dangerous animals and impounding them safely.  Must be able to interact professionally with emotional and sometimes confrontational citizens.  Able to cope with a sometimes hectic pace and workload.

Hours:  Must be available to work all shifts as needed including on-call shifts.
